Description:

Discover the unique saga of Greater Moncton’s growth and survival at the Moncton Museum! Our Heritage Collection showcases a vivid history through artefacts and photographs. Explore Moncton’s past with our permanent and in-house temporary exhibitions.

We offer a variety of events and programs throughout the year. Visit the Learn and Discover section on our website to see what’s happening!

Every year, the Moncton Museum hosts three to four travelling exhibits from museums across the country. These high-quality exhibits come with educational materials and cover a range of subjects and themes.

Heritage Collection
Our collection of artefacts and photographs recounts the region’s history from the Mi’kmaq era to today. Discover treasures from the period before the Deportation of Acadians, the agricultural heyday, the golden shipbuilding years, and the railway era.

Reginald Ward Resource Centre
The Moncton Museum’s extensive collection of historical photographs and archival documents covers the history of the Greater Moncton region. We offer genealogical records, city directories, and other historical resources. Our research library is available for staff and visitors, but appointments are required for archive consultations.

Walk-In Wednesdays
During the summer, starting in June, the Reginald Ward Resource Centre is open for walk-ins every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dive into our research files, city directories, local history books, old fire insurance maps, and more!

Visits to the Resource Centre are FREE! Just ask about the program at the reception desk when you arrive.
