Panmure Island Beach is a long white sandy beach shouldered by sweeping sand dunes and vast ocean views. Much-loved by locals and visitors alike, Panmure Island is truly a beach-lover’s paradise. Located along a causeway, there is water access on both sides of the highway. You’ll find the sheltered St. Mary’s Bay on one side and the ocean on the other. This beach is one of Prince Edward Island’s provincial parks and with that comes all the amenities you need – showers, bathrooms, and a convenience store. Neighboring this beautiful stretch of beach is the acclaimed Panmure Island Lighthouse, which is worthy of a postcard all on its own. It’s not only the oldest wooden lighthouse on the Island, it has an important legacy guiding vessels through Georgetown and Montague Harbours since 1853.
