Surmesur is the brainchild of brothers Vincent and François Thériault from Québec City. Growing up playing competitive sports, they wanted to pursue the same type of challenge when it came to starting their own business. Following several trips abroad, they developed from scratch a new, unique and enjoyable approach to shopping.
After two months of research and design, the young entrepreneurs opened for business, offering an all-new shopping experience for tailor-made clothing in a 320 square foot boutique in Québec City.
Several months later they were able to upgrade to a more spacious, 1200 square foot location, still in Québec City. To better serve its growing clientele, Surmesur was proud to announce the opening of a third boutique in august, in downtown Toronto. With their success in the province of Ontario, a fourth store will be built in Ottawa in the summer of 2014
Surmesur has been actively involved in the community since its creation in 2010. Proud partner of, Surmesur created a tie to raise money for prostate cancer research. The tie is sold exclusively in Surmesur boutiques, for the price of $30. Surmesur is also a member of the Fondation du Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec’s committee, whose mission is to promote art among young professionals. In addition, Surmesur supports various philanthropic activities in which its employees are personally involved, including(fundraising evening for La Fondation de l’Institut de recherche en santé mentale de Québec) and (fundraiser for La Fondation Petits bonheurs d’école).
Why we are here
We channel our passion into the creation of quality clothing for men. Taking into account the physiognomy and taste of each client, we try to express their full potential through their appearance.
We offer our clients a shopping experience that is both simple and fun. Surmesur is a perfect marriage of tradition and innovation, where in addition to classic custom tailoring, technology is an integral part of the shopping experience. In the Montréal boutique, we have even introduced our own system of measurement using a state-of-the-art three-dimensional scanner.
Our wide selection of options and a choice of some 5000 fabrics allow men to personalize their shirt or suit at prêt-à-porter prices. Shirt prices range from $55 to $250, while suit prices start at $375. To satisfy the most discerning customers, we also carry recognized collections such as Dormeuil, Scabal, Holland & Sherry and Vitale Barberis.
