This is us!
We opened our doors in Parkdale, Toronto in April 2013 after months of planning and developing a concept that was true to our passion. We were interested in well-made goods with unique and individual stories or a long, proven history – those high quality “standards” that everyone wants in their closet and keeps coming back to, time after time. We were also both interested in Canadian history and industry, having grown up living, travelling, and camping in Canada.
In addition to our own North Standard branded collection, our in-store line up includes storied brands like the Hudson’s Bay Heritage line, Pendleton, Penfield, Carhartt, Red Wing, Minnetonka, Hunter, Woolrich, and Levi’s – those extremely well-made standards that have a consistent place in every person’s wardrobe. We also make a concerted effort to carry Canadian- and Toronto-based designers and artists such as Doublenaut, Smells Like Canada, Muttonhead, and OSC Cross.
We encourage you to come visit us! Our shop is family and dog friendly. Always feel free to ask us about anything; we genuinely love chatting with our customers and informing you about our products. And don’t ever get discouraged by those front steps – if you have a stroller or need a hand getting up them, just knock on the door and one of us will come to help you!
We are located at 1662 Queen Street West in Toronto, Canada. The street car stops right at our door and there is ample street parking in the area. We are surrounded by amazing antique shops, restaurants, and other like-minded businesses.
When you’re in the neighbourhood, you should definitely check out some of these shops/restaurants within blocks of our shop: Cambie,Coriander Girl, Food & Liquor, Glory Hole Doughnuts, Kitten and the Bear, Local Kitchen, Parts & Labour, Sylvie and Shimmy, The Yukon, and many more!
Our hours are listed below as well as our contact info. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call or email us.
